Europe: more than half email is spam

Spam continues to submerge users and accounts for 50-80% of the total email sent to the mailbox, the European Commission said.

Viviane Reding, EU Communications Commissioner, called on member governments to increase efforts in fighting spam, spyware and other Internet problems in the face of this worrying situation. Previously, an EU report showed that only the Netherlands and Finland had some measures to tighten anti-spam laws.
