Sometimes what you think you see is not so. All are just visual illusions.

According to netizens, there is a smiling girl in the picture, but she only appears when you squint your eyes. Normally, you will see a face of an old man.

This is obviously an interesting phenomenon, but most netizens just say that they see . shudder. Others are curious about what is happening. And if you are one of these, the answer will be right here.

Hybrid image - the truth behind is a visual illusion

This is a picture created by a member of the Reddit forum named Shikaca since 2015, and has become a network phenomenon at the time.

In fact, the characters in the picture are not strangers. The man in the picture is the film actor Ben Stiller, and the smiling girl is Beyoncé. Shikaca was a student from Arizona University at the time, and she made this photo to serve an essay on human awareness.

And the secret behind it is a visual illusion effect called "Hybrid image" - or roughly translated as "mixed image".

To create a hybrid image, one will mix a high-frequency image with low frequency images together. The results will give a picture that can change information based on the observer's perspective. When you look closely, you will see a high-frequency image and vice versa when you look away or squint, low-frequency images will appear.

In the case of a picture of Shikaca, you will see Stiller's face appear, which means it is a high-frequency image. And when looking far away, Stiller's face will fade, giving way to Beyoncé.

This is not the first time the hybrid image phenomenon has appeared. Previously, there were many people who tried to "play" this phenomenon, and the most famous is probably the mixed picture of Albert Einstein and Marilyn Monroe.
