Specialist explaining the image of the ghost at the American hotel
Panorama mode on iPhone phones can be the cause of ghost images captured by a tourist in a hotel in Colorado, USA.
According to CNN, in the photo taken by visitor Henry Yau at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, USA, two ghosts stand on the stairs in a woman and a child next door. The photo quickly caused fever and attracted many comments on social networks. Some people argue that this is actually a ghost image in the unexplainable phenomenon.
However, researcher Kenny Biddle examined the photo and insisted that Yau used the panorama feature on the iPhone to record the entire picture of the big staircase. This can provide suggestions for explaining phenomena because when choosing panorama mode, the phone does not take pictures but instead scans quickly through frames, according to Discovery News.
"The panoramic image is not taken at the same speed as a normal image but takes a few seconds, allowing Yau to start taking panoramic pictures at one end of the room. Meanwhile, one or two other guests come halfway. The staircase, round the landing and begins to move down the other half of the staircase, which is when Yau finishes the panoramic image at the other end of the room, " Biddle explained.
Uneven scanning when using the panorama feature in the camera is very common, and many websites have posted hundreds of strange photos with similar problems."The ghost is definitely just a guest in the frame while going downstairs while the panoramic shooting takes a few seconds, " Biddle concluded.
The photo recorded two suspicious ghosts that were possessed by Henry Yau at the Stanley Hotel.(Photo: Instagram).
Although some refute the conclusion that the picture is a feature-packed staging product, Biddle judged that when looking closely at the two ghosts, the shape features on both were very similar, including hair, two-piece shirt, head, shoulders, and upper skirt height.
"This is a dual image of the same person. This effect is caused by a low light environment , slowing the scanning speed when the camera tries to capture more light, combined with this person's movement when round Biddle said, " Biddle said.
Yau said he did not remember a person standing at the top of the stairs when he took a picture, but it was possible that the visitor did not pay attention to the woman who appeared and walked around the stairs due to his attention to the camera and taking pictures. The unexpected appearance of the attire also contributed to misunderstandings about the photo. The woman seemed to wear a black dress or a dark skirt.
According to Biddle, the image has no special points. This is a normal blurry photo, very popular among long exposure panoramic images taken with the iPhone.
The context also plays an important role in creating a picture of a ghost. Most people still take faulty photos with many odd or unusual points such as strange shadows, blurry body parts, double exposure, suspended objects. These photos are often unnoticed or deleted, unless the photographer thinks there is a reason to point out that the picture contains supernatural elements.
The photo of Yau taken at the famous haunted hotel, once became the inspiration for the horror book of American writer Stephen King. Therefore, visitors are more likely to see ghosts (directly and through photos) than resting places without other haunted rumors, whether or not ghosts actually exist.
This is the result of a psychological process called "bait effect" , which expects to influence our interpretation of things. To some extent, we see what we want or expect to see, including ghosts. Those who are interested in rumors of a haunted building will definitely take many photos, and anything strange or seemingly mysterious among them may be evidence of ghosts.
