Expose the brightest galaxy ever
US scientists discovered the brightest galaxy ever, with 300 trillion times more light than the Sun.
Discover the brightest galaxy ever
The US Aerospace Agency (NASA) discovered the WISE J224607.57-052635.0 galaxy thanks to the WISE space telescope. Scientists identified it as 300 trillion times brighter than the Sun. The center of the galaxy is a large black hole.

"We are monitoring the very strong motion of the galaxy. Huge sources of light can stem from the black hole's activity in the center," NASA researcher Chao-Wei Tsai said. Huge black holes suck air and matter into the disk space around them, increasing heat. At high temperatures of millions of degrees, it explodes and emits light, ultraviolet rays, and X-rays.
According to ABC News, the discovery of a distant galaxy like WISE J224607.57-052635.0 is a rare thing. It is about 12.5 billion light-years from Earth.
Through studying black holes, scientists hope to learn more about the history of the universe.
