Extremely powerful earthquake strikes Myanmar, aftershocks everywhere
A strong earthquake of 6.9 to 7.5 magnitude has just occurred in Myanmar, a series of geological and earthquake assessment agencies said. Aftershocks spread widely.
The latest news in the Times of India led by China's Xinhua news agency said a strong aftershock lasting about a minute could be felt in Lhasa, the capital of the Tibetan Autonomous Region. There have been no casualties reported, but the sighted people are fleeing the house.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred around 20h25 (local time). The epicenter is about 100km from the city of Monywa in Myanmar. Vibration can also be felt in Bangladesh and part of India.

Meanwhile, GEOFON Global Seismic Network said the seismic force was 7.2 million Richter.The area that occurs is on the border between India and Myanmar.
According to China Earthquake Network Center, the magnitude of the earthquake measured at 7.5 Richter scale. The epicenter was at 23 degrees North latitude and 94 degrees 57 East longitude minutes.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Center said that about 20 minutes after the quake in Myanmar, the Andamans Islands received a 4.7-magnitude earthquake.
Reuters news agency quoted a witness as saying, strong shaking was felt in Guwashati city, eastern India. Many people here and in Kolkata said they woke up and ran out of the house.
There are no reports of casualties and damage yet.
