Female voice helps plants grow fast

Chat is one of the ways to help plants grow fast. A recent study demonstrated that female voices make plants grow faster than male voices.

Scientists from the Royal Gardening Association of England conducted an experiment on the effect of conversation on the growth of tomato plants in Surrey County in April this year. The team selected 12 tomato plants of equal height and attached headphones to 10 plants. They recorded the voices of many people (both male and female) and played back through 10 headphones in a month. All plants were cared for under the same conditions throughout the test period.

After one month, the results showed that the trees that were 'listened' to the female voice were at least 5 cm taller than the rest of the trees. Some male voices are so bad that tomato plants correspond to them growing slower than the two plants without headphones. The quieter the female voice, the faster the height of the tree.

Colin Crosbie, a member of the research team, said: 'At first we thought that trees like male voices, but it turns out they grow faster with female voices. We cannot explain that phenomenon yet. It is very likely that the human voice produces sound waves that echo into the trees. For plants, song sound is as important as rain and light. '
