Ferrari patented steering system more accurate
Ferrari has just received a patent for developing a new steering system for a more accurate feel. This system uses the current hardware, but it reduces the steering wheel or transmission error , a feeling when we hit the steering wheel that the two wheels do not respond in time. This is due to the lag in the transmission of the steering system, and almost all current steering assist systems are experiencing this phenomenon.
The new Ferrari-driven system still uses mechanical connections and does not require any hardware upgrades. Ferrari simply reset the system control software, so the system needs a faster processor and a larger internal memory.
Ferrari says the new steering system can also help reduce steering effort, resulting in a slightly lighter feel, even if the cost of the equipment is not significantly increased.
However, Ferrari's new steering system patent comes with a remarks that may be embarrassing to the customer: "The feeling of the driver getting the driver is not always the best."
In order to have the correct steering system, we have to accept the trade off of familiar feelings. Ferrari has yet to disclose the application of this technology to future products.
