Batfish (bat fish) belongs to the family Ogcocephalidae , others belong to the family Ephippidae . Batfish uses pectoral fins to move. As adults, their dorsal fins can be a powerful weapon to attract prey.

The lips can be used by Batfish to "elicit" mates, or as weapons to attract prey. Scientists often find Batfish in tropical waters, most in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.

Batfish's food is fish, shrimp, crustaceans. Their fins are like strong legs. The fin helps Batfish burrow down deep and or to disguise. Batfish currently has more than 60 different species found in the warm, tropical coasts of the world.
