Fish robots detect crude oil
Researcher Xiaobo Tan from Michigan State University has created a fish robot that can detect crude oil spills in the river.

The fish robot named Grace (Gilding Robot ACE) is shaped like a goldfish, or anyone else sees it as a torpedo. On the robot body is mounted a giant wings, helping the robot save energy.

Scientist Tan further explained that when the robot swam in the water, its tail was always active, forced to consume large amounts of battery and only be active for one hour continuously. However, with these wings, Grace can easily combine tail flapping and watering alternately, allowing the robot to swim more than 200km in good environmental conditions.
Tan uses an electric pump to control the floating and sinking of the fish robot, which is a combination of the sliding weight inside the robot body and the change in center of gravity.
When floating on the water at a certain distance, the Grace robot sends a steady stream of sensor readings to scientists via a wireless connection that allows scientists to evaluate and detect zones. whether the area contains crude oil or not.
Grace fish robot belongs to the project of protecting and monitoring water environment in the future.
