This is the first time that the sea bottom sludge has been found to contain rare earths in the waters off the Pacific Ocean, proving that rare earths can be widely distributed across the global sea.

The location of this rare earth is located in the Indian Ocean, about 1,000 km west of Jakarta, Indonesia, not far from the Cocos Islands of Australia.

Through seabed sludge analysis, the research staff discovered the seabed with a depth of about 5,600m with a layer of rare earth mud.

Compared to the Pacific Ocean, this rare earth contain more depth and exploitation.
