"We have found a few silver coins here, but never so much. Archaeologists have come and excavated this place, they collected some artifacts but not many," Jaroslaw Musialkowski, historian. amateur school, said. In addition to hundreds of silver coins, they also discovered a number of ceramics, Fox News reported on August 30.

The Battle of Roslin took place during the First Scottish War of Independence. Scotland defeated England in this battle. It is thought that out of 30,000 British soldiers on the battlefield, only about 2,000 survived.

The team of experts at the Scottish National Museum is analyzing the coins found. Some look like coins from the time of King Edward I, who ruled England from 1271 to 1307. Others may come from an Irish coinage mint. They may belong to the locals, but according to Musialkowski, this is most likely the money used to pay mercenaries to join the battle.

"The tenants don't want to pay before they die. It will be much cheaper to pay only those who are still alive after the battle. I think they might be buried here to dig later. However, we have to wait." Conclusion from the museum, " he said.
