Gender war in each person

The female body must constantly struggle to control the rise of male sex and men also face the same war.

In mammals, males have a pair of XY chromosomes and females have XX chromosome pairs. But, according to the Telegraph, experts from the University of Cologne (Germany) discovered that there is one more gene in the human body that is able to determine human sex. That is the FOXL2.

If the FOXL2 is 'on' then the ovaries will grow. Conversely, testicles will appear if it is 'off'.

But what surprised the scientists was that the FOXL2's 'on' and 'off' process continued after people were born and grown up.

'No one has ever thought about it. That's why our research is so special , 'said Professor Mathias Treier of the University of Cologne.

Treier and his colleagues conducted "off" FOXL2 in the mouse body. They found that when the gene was turned off, the egg cells began turning into testicular cells. This means that the same effect also occurs in humans.

'People have long thought that their gender is determined from within the fetus and the body does not have to do anything to maintain gender. But our research shows that the gender war continues throughout life , 'said Dr. Robin Lovell-Badge of the British Medical Research Council, a member of the research team.

Scientists believe that gene turning on and off also occurs in some species of fish that can change sex when the number of males or females in the herd becomes disparate. They argue that the Cologne University study smashed the notion that sex is determined from the fetal stage and does not change after birth. It can also lead to the introduction of therapies for treating sexual disorders in children, early menopause in women.
