Giant super typhoon threatens 100 million Indians

Fani super typhoon with a strong wind force of more than 200km / h is about to land in India, threatening the lives of more than 100 million people living along the east coast of the country.

According to CNN, super typhoon Fani is raging in the southern sea of ​​India on May 2, has strengthened to level 3, with winds of 190km / h, strong winds can reach 201km / h.

Hurricane Fani is still about 270km from the Indian coast, which is expected to land in India's Odisha state on May 3 and pass through the living area of ​​about 100 million people.

Super typhoon Fani, rated as "extremely intense", is the most powerful storm hitting India in the last 5 years. The storm is expected to cause large waves, strong gusts of wind, which can cause serious damage to areas where the storm passes.

The eastern Indian and western coasts of Bangladesh are projected to experience very heavy rainfall from 150 to 300mm, causing flooding with extensive landslides.

Emergency evacuation campaigns have been deployed by India. Currently, the coast guards and the navy have dispatched ships and helicopters to prepare for rescue operations. Army and air units were ordered to depart in the states of Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.

Indian authorities have set up more than 900 shelter locations in the Odisha state, while schools have been closed down this week. Rescue teams have come home to warn people about the storm about to land.
