Computer worm MW.Orc mainly targets users of Google's Orkut website in Brazil. Using a Portuguese message, deep MW.Orc seduced the victim to click on a fake file as a JPEG photo, FaceTime Security Labs said in a statement over the weekend.

The original file - named " minhasfotos.exe " - will create two new files " winlogon_.jpg " and " wzip32.exe " as soon as MW.Orc successfully infects the user's system . Then, if the user clicks on the My Computer icon, an email containing their personal information will be sent to the malicious attacker.

Besides, infected computer systems after MW.Orc also "confiscated" to join the network of abducted PCs - or botnets.

The worm MW.Orc spreads itself by placing a dangerous link on the user's profile on Orkut network.

Google has also officially confirmed the existence of this computer worm. " We have known the worm MW.Orc and will proceed to resolve this issue as soon as possible, " a Google representative said. " We have worked to provide long-term solutions to protect users from dangerous threats ."

For users, to protect themselves, users of online services and applications should be careful when clicking on links or anything suspicious on the web, Google recommends.

Users at Brazi account for 70% of Google's users of Orkut networks. That may be the reason why there is the emergence of worm MW.Orc.
