Google 'mixes' the digital book service with the map

The search giant has embarked on a "marriage" for two online book library services with digital mapping software, whereby readers will get "directions" to the locations described in the book.

Specifically, Google Books will "visualize data and instructions" written in the book by inserting the link below, connecting them to Google Maps interactive software. Just click on keywords that indicate this location, readers will receive a map that points to the location, said Google engineer David Petrou.

Some titles have been "married" to interactive map services including: Around the World in 80 Days , War and Peace , Journeys of Marco Polo and the Commission's Report on the Case 9/11

" We hope this feature will help you plan your travel, academic research or simply follow your favorite novel characters more easily. Most importantly, you always feel find fun and interesting , "Google announced.

The Google Book Search project has been fiercely controversial since its publication in 2004, because its goal is to scan all of the world's printed books into digital form and put them online for free. .

In the early stages, classic works appear in the Google Book database, along with many modern copyrighted works that publishers have not yet allowed.

However, after being criticized by publishers and authors, Google adjusted it by only briefly introducing copyrighted works, along with instructional information where books can be bought / borrowed. .
