Great innovations are born of the idea of
Surely you will be surprised to know that the great inventions of mankind: modern medicine, gunpowder, telescopes . come from ideas that have an unrelated "heavenly" part. But they become the foundation for modern human civilization.
Follow human history, there are many innovations and ideas that encounter strong opposition of superstitious and ignorant people. In order for these ideas to be recognized, scientists had to fight a lot, even bloodshed to protect their stance.
1. The idea of modern medicine: heating human sperm and burying it with horse manure
Until the sixteenth century, the idea of a pill to synthesize the substances needed to cure any kind of disease was still quite new. And the creator of this idea was a Swiss-born German doctor, botanist, alchemist and astrologer named Paracelsus .
Paracelsus said that in humans there are 4 'basic fluids' (blood, sputum, tears and bile). Health is the result of balancing these four fluids in each person.
If infected, it must be due to external agents that upset the balance of "fluids." As a result, how many individuals have so many types of illnesses. These agents will also be removed by appropriate treatment.

In addition, according to him, the human body is a perfect structure, which is a miniature version of the universe, with 7 bodies representing 7 planets at that time.
But Paracelsus's idea gradually became distant from reality when he believed he could truly 'make' a person with the right materials. He took sperms that were heated in test tubes, then buried with . horse manure for 40 days. After that, he asserted that he had created a talking little person .
Paracelsus decided to publish his discovery to scientists at that time. However, when they saw the horse bowl, they all . ran away, despite Paracelsus's interpretation. Scientists have since studied and manufactured current drugs.
2. The idea of a telescope: to find people living on the moon
Uranus - Uranus was discovered in 1781 by astronomer and engineer and German-born musician - William Herschel . At that time, the talented artist created a unique telescope , about 2 meters long, based on Isaac Newton's idea.

This invention is considered to be a model for later telescope construction. But few people know that Herschel's real purpose in creating such great glasses is to find people living on . the moon.
At that time, Herschel was inspired by the idea that the Moon was inhabited. He said that he had seen the crowded forests, towns and cities passing by on the Moon.
In fact, these are just round holes on the surface of the Moon. Later, William Herschel concluded, all the planets in the solar system carry life, many people live on it.
Moreover, he asserts, Mars has an ocean and also exists in the year of the Earth like the Earth. Even Herschel said that the Sun itself has life and nature is not like a giant gas ball and always burning. Thanks to the research, 5 years later, William Herschel found Uranus - Uranus, and the Moon people did not see it.
3. The idea of gunpowder: to hunt down the medicine of immortality
Gunpowder is one of the four great inventions of Chinese people . Thanks to that, human beings are now able to enjoy beautiful fireworks displays, and many applications for humanity (like breaking stones). However, we cannot deny, this is also the tool that caused many bloody wars.
But few people know that gunpowder is just discovered when Chinese people are on the hunt for ' longevity ' drugs . How many Chinese dynasties have a goal, that is, to find a "longevity" medicine .
For hundreds of years, Chinese alchemists actively studied, particularly intensive on metals of unusual nature like gold - difficult to corrode or mercury - liquid metal and sulfur. .
They discovered that sulfur is highly flammable, especially when mixed with sulfur (potassium nitrate-KNO 3 ). Many people, when heated, have suffered severe burns, houses have been burned, and even died. After many experiments, it was finally found that the formula for making gunpowder in proportion: phosphorus 75%, sulfur 10% and charcoal 15%.
Finally, the goal of creating Chinese "immortal" medicine was unsuccessful, but they succeeded anyway with a great invention used to this day.
4. Idea of creating compass: spoon and plate
In the past, when we didn't want to get lost in every journey, we often determined the direction with the Sun or the stars. But when having to move into bad weather or in the evening, the compass is a great tool.
China is the place where the compass originated, with their 'guideline' . There was something they thought of to serve feng shui , like arranging furniture in a certain direction to create the most natural movement of energy possible.
The reason is that Chinese people living in new lands often have the will to live peacefully with nature and the surrounding environment, so they often build houses based on the North-South axis.
Initially, the Chinese "pointer" is just a spoon, or a sharp stone with a magnet (symbolizing the North Star). They are released into water, or in a plate (in feng shui symbolizing the Earth). The magnet will rotate and always point to the south.
The explorers and sailors realized that this tool was extremely useful for adventures and long journeys, so they studied and developed into a compass. Since then, the compass has become one of the most important inventions of humankind.
