Photos of blue clouds above a park in Moscow city on April 26 were posted on the Internet. A part of the online community thinks they are the result of some chemical plant explosion. Even many people guessed that they were a warning sign before the end of the world, RIA Novosti reported.

However, green also covers many streets, houses and cars in Moscow.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said an unusually large amount of pollen had spread throughout the city of Moscow. They are released from a variety of plants, such as bolts.

The birch tree 'sprinkles' green pollen from March to May every year. Their powder is one of the factors that cause summer fever in humans.

Biologist Vladimir Murashov, an expert at Moscow National University, said the bulky pollen could fly up to 10,000m and hover over it for a month if the rain did not appear. With a large enough density, they can cause many clouds to turn green.
