Michael Yen, director of the Hon Hai Technology Group, said the electronic animal is a Camarsaurus dinosaur from the Jurassic period and will be available in the spring.
"The robot is equipped with electronic components and operates as a small personal computer, so it needs a high tech manufacturing partner , " Yen said.
Caleb Chung, creator of Pleo, co-founder of Ugobe, said he spent four years developing the toy. It looks like a dinosaur with human characteristics. Like all pets, Pleo can be taught to do many things like shaking hands, wagging his tail and begging ... " Chung said.
Pleo is also programmed to express emotions such as emitting sound or facial movement. It also has the personality chosen by the owner.
"It could be a melancholy or curious robot, and it's also programmed to kick or sing Michael Jackson songs , " Ugboe Chief Executive Bob Christopher said.
