Half of America is 'stiff' because of cold -51 degrees Celsius

The US Weather Agency (NWS) said that the cold wave from the Arctic spill could pull temperatures in many areas of the US down to -51 degrees Celsius, and warn people to stay at home, avoid the roads and reserve food. The NWS asserts that this type of cold weather is 'deadly danger'.

Even according to some experts, human skin that only needs to be exposed to this cold for 5 minutes can get frostbite.

US officials also warned people will face some incidents such as inoperable cars and slippery roads.

On January 5, snow storms forced thousands of flights from major cities like Chicago and New York to cancel. In it, Chicago's O'Hare airport had to cancel 1,300 flights.

The states of Minnesota and North Dakota have also experienced extreme weather. Today, Minnesota governor Mark Dayton announced that all schools will be closed "to protect children from extremely dangerous weather".
