Having dementia still uses computers easily

The best product voted for by the public in the DesignIT Software Awards that Microsoft supports is a tool that helps Alzheimer's patients to post text, images and videos.

The design called " Memories are made of this " includes a program screensaver that acts as a command prompt for the system. Author Said Dajani, Alzheimer's site administrator, said the software's idea is to help patients recall important events in their lives.

Picture 1 of Having dementia still uses computers easily " Screensaver is like a scrapbook, " he said. " Because the actual play was actually helping them link the images, we turned it into a computer tool ."

The second part of the tool is to create a social network for patients to exchange and talk to each other. " They not only perform quite complex access operations, they can also chat with others to remember who has been online at the same time, " Dajani said.

DesignIT is an annual contest to choose the best software. Microsoft engineers will support award-winning products to serve life. It is estimated that there will be 1 million people with Alzheimer's disease by 2025.
