HBO bought the film rights to film in Second Life
The channel of the famous HBO series on September 4 revealed that it had bought the documentary television rights to be filmed directly in the Second Life virtual world.
In order to obtain the rights to this special movie, Time Warner's fee-for-use feature film series has been paid to author Douglas Gayeton of up to six digits.
The film is expected to be available on HBO next year.
' My Second Life: The diaries of Molotov Alta ' (My second life: Molotov Alta's video diary) tells of a man ' suddenly disappeared from his home in California ' and then constantly broadcast the video of his life directly in the Second Life world. Molotov Alta is Gayeton's avatar name in Second Life world.
'My Second Life' has a total of 7 parts. Each part will bring viewers to explore different cultures in the virtual world. Now 'My Second Life' has also been posted on YouTube.
So far, many real companies have joined the Second Life virtual world in order to advertise products. Hollywood doesn't stand outside that game either. They began to care about using Second Life to film virtual movies. The studio in Second Life is called 'machinima'.
For example, CBS created Super Bowl Machinima to promote the TV show 'Two and a Half Men'. Soon CBS will also be performing on this TV show that short films are filmed live in Second Life.
