Honor the basic natural research scientist

Natural scientists with outstanding achievements in basic research will receive the Ta Quang Buu award by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).

This is the first year the Ministry of Science organizes the award, to encourage and honor scientists who have made outstanding achievements in basic research in the field of natural science. They have contributed to promoting basic scientific research in particular and Vietnamese science and technology in general, reaching international level, creating a premise for the country's science to integrate and develop.

The award will be held annually and given to 7 areas: mathematics, computer science and information; physical; chemistry; Earth science and environment; biology and other natural sciences. Scientists who are Vietnamese citizens and Vietnamese scientists who are working abroad are subject to consideration of awards.

The organizers said that the prize structure consists of one to three major awards and one young scientist award (under 30 years old, as of the time of closing the submission) for authors of scientific works. excellent learning; an award for scientists who has made a positive contribution to Vietnam's basic research.

Each award includes a certificate from the Minister of Science and Technology, a prize of VND 200 million for the main prize, VND 100 million for a prize for a scientist who actively contributes to basic research. of Vietnam and VND 50 million with prizes for young scientists.

Participants will submit applications for consideration of the Ta Quang Buu Award to the National Science and Technology Development Fund from October 30 to January 15, 2014. The award ceremony will be held in May 2014.
