Create a new award for natural science

In order to encourage and honor the scientist with outstanding achievements and contributions in natural science research, the Minister of Science and Technology has just issued the Ta Quang Buu Award Regulation.

According to the announcement on the Ministry's website, the award will be held annually to give to Vietnamese scientists who are the authors of outstanding basic research projects in the field of natural science.

The award will also be awarded to domestic and foreign scientists who actively contribute to Vietnam's basic research in the areas of mathematics, computer science and information; physical; chemistry; Earth science and environment; biology and other natural sciences.

Regarding the prize structure, there will be one to three major awards and one young scientist award (under 30 years old, as of the time of closing the application for consideration and award of the Award) for the author of excellent scientific works; an award for scientists who has made a positive contribution to Vietnam's basic research.

The time-limit for award awarding begins from September to December this year. The time limit for selecting prizes is from January to March of the following year. Award Ceremony will be held in May next year.
