Three scientists won the Ta Quang Buu award

All three authors have excellent works published internationally and made important contributions to Vietnamese science.

The awards ceremony took place at 9:00 pm - Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2018 - at the Ministry of Science and Technology. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister Chu Ngoc Anh and representatives of leaders of ministries, departments and scientists will attend the ceremony.

Two main prizes were awarded to Associate Professor Pham Van Hung (International University, Ho Chi Minh City National University) in the field of agricultural biology and Dr. Tran Dinh Phong (Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Science Study and Technology) in the field of physics. Dr. Do Quoc Tuan, University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University, won the Young Prize.

In the study " Research on digestibility and bioavailability of different types of rice starch with different amylose content and rice starch modified by physical methods" , Associate Professor Pham Van Hung and his colleagues found a change Change the structure and degree of digestibility of rice starch when treating heat - moisture and moisture - heat. The method is the premise for research applications in functional food production for prevention of chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity.

Dr. Tran Dinh Phong with the study "Polymer structure and catalytic mechanism of H2 formation of amorphous molybdenum sulfide" first found the structure and mechanism of amorphous molybden sulfide, a catalyst It is possible to replace platinum-expensive material in the reaction to prepare hydrogen clean fuel (H2) from water. The study was published in the world's No. 1 magazine of Natural Materials materials science.

The work of "Higher dimensional nonlinear massive gravity" of the universe has shown the nature of the cosmological constant, which relates to the acceleration of the universe's acceleration can be explain the theory of mass nonlinear gravity in spacetime not only four dimensions but many dimensions.

This year, the Organizing Committee has received 54 applications for registration of prizes. The Specialized Science Councils have evaluated and selected 9 of the best quality of these to continue to be selected at the Awards Council.

The Ta Quang Buu award is organized annually by the Ministry of Science and Technology to encourage and honor scientists who have published outstanding results in basic research in the field of natural sciences and engineering. After 5 years of implementation, the Award received 227 applications for registration with 14 honorable scientists.

Each award includes a certificate from the Minister of Science and Technology, a prize of VND 200 million for the main prize, VND 100 million for a prize for a scientist who actively contributes to the basic research of Vietnam and 50 million VND for young scientist award.
