HOT! The 2-meter tsunami hit Indonesia city after the earthquake

The 2-meter battle broke into two cities on Sulawesi after the earthquake of 7.5 degrees, collapsing the house and rolling a boat to the sea but the casualties were unknown.

The AP said the tsunami occurred on September 28 in the city of Palu, the capital of Sulawesi Tengah province, and a nearby small city is Donggala, which is located near the earthquake center. The official cannot provide information on casualties.

"The high waves of about 1.5 to 2 meters have been withdrawn. It has ended. The situation is very chaotic, people fled the streets and houses collapsed," Dwikoeita Karnawati, leader of the meteorological and geophysical agency. Indonesia (BMKG), told Reuters.

BMKG issued a tsunami warning but removed it after an hour.

The video footage on local television that Khoahoc.tv has not been able to verify shows that water is pouring into houses along the Palu coast.

Spokesman for the Indonesian National Disaster, Sutopo Nugroho, said communications were cut at both Palu and Donggala. More than 600,000 people live in these two places and he received news of a collapsed house and a missing family.

Muhammad Syaugi, head of the national search and rescue agency, said they will dispatch a large ship and helicopter to support the campaign. He also said he has not yet contacted his team in Palu.

Officials said that because the earthquake occurred at sunset and communications were cut off, the airport was closed, so it was impossible to immediately assess human and property damage at this time. They hope to do this early in the morning.

Earlier in the day, the area had a small earthquake, destroying several houses, killing 1 person and at least 10 people injured in Donggala, according to authorities.

The US Geological Survey said the second earthquake was 7.5 degrees strong, lower than the initial level of 7.7 degrees.

"The second earthquake was felt very strongly, we think there will be more damage, more victims," said Nugroho.

Up to now, at least 30 bodies of victims have been found after the magnitude 7.5 earthquake and tsunami struck Palu city, central Indonesia on September 28.

"The bodies of the victims were found in many locations, they were crushed by stone bricks or swept away by tsunamis. We are still gathering more information," said Sutopo Nugroho, spokesman for the Carpet Department. Indonesia national illustration, announced September 29.

Indonesian authorities refused to provide the exact number of victims killed to date. Doctor Komang Sujendra said 30 victims' bodies were taken to hospital in Palu city. 12 other people injured after the disaster on September 28 are also being treated here.
