How many fish species on Earth?
So far the science of recognizing fish is the richest, most crowded and diverse organism of all vertebrates present on Earth, with more than 23,000 species.
Based on the fossil record, it was determined that fish appeared on our planet about 500 million years ago, before dinosaurs and many other prehistoric animals.
The fish have a strange size and weight difference. For example, the blue whale has the largest size and weight with a length of 25-35m and weighs 140-190 tons, while the smallest is the tiny carp Paedocypris progenetica, recently discovered in Indonesia's Sumatra island. and the Malaysian Borneo area with adults only 7.9mm long and weighs no more than 1.5g.
Another special thing is that fish can live in many different habitats, even those that live in cold areas or in hot underground water springs 70-80OC.
