The report shows that the distribution of these four fish species on the Red River system is increasingly narrowed, generally tends to retreat towards the upstream of rivers and streams, where the terrain is difficult and downstream. The authors stated that the benefits of these four rare and precious fish species have declined. If we do not implement timely, synchronous, strong protection measures, then the risk of their extinction will come true.

Therefore, the research team proposed the Ministry of Fisheries, the functional agencies should strictly implement the Ordinance on Protection of Aquatic Resources, such as banning fishermen from automatically catching and consuming rare and precious fish; prohibiting the use of destructive means such as electrical impulses, explosives, poison; guide how to use fast nets and small hooks to avoid killing young fish; manage sand mining and gold mining activities in riverbeds . because these activities have serious impacts on the living environment of fish species; monitor and control the discharge of waste from industrial plants.

At the same time, the report also proposed to organize the establishment of nature reserves on the Red River. Construction of stations and camps in key areas. Conduct research on biological and nourishing surfaces. At the same time, there should be coordination between the two fisheries and irrigation sectors in the construction of hydroelectric dams.

Currently, scientists at the Research Institute for Aquaculture No. 1 have experimented with fish in 3 species of spotted fish, fried fish and sudden fish in cages, ponds obtained satisfactory results. Lentil is a good prospect when culture in ponds with occasional water addition, cage culture results are limited. Fried fish is well grown in cages, not suitable for static water ponds, periodic water changes. Fresh fish is suitable for farming in ponds and cages in the Northern mountainous conditions.
