Humans can live up to 500 years by snail gene
Australian scientists believe that humans can live up to 500 years old if they have some snail genes and hormones.
Australian scientists are looking to find the gene, which controls the slowing of aging in the dormant phase of snails. They also hope that in the future this gene could help people prolong their lifespan.
According to molecular biologist at Sunshine Coast University, Scott Cummins, some snails can extend their life from 3 to 23 years through hibernation. If we compare it to the age of people, we can extend the life expectancy from 70 to 500 years.
Humans have the same genes and "eternal" hormones as snails?
Currently, Dr. Cummins is looking for ways to identify genes and hormones involved in snail dormancy (when temperatures rise, snails will begin hibernation in a few months).
Experts say the gene in the human body is like a snail's gene up to 50%. Therefore, they believe that in the human body must also contain 'dormant gene' , and this finding may help the method of slowing the aging process in humans.
