IE malfunctioned when installing security patches
In the two news reports posted on its official website, Microsoft yesterday officially confirmed there was a security patch for Internet Explorer that caused the browser to crash. Broken functionality of websites that use custom applications.
This issue occurs when installing two MS05-038 and MS05-052 security patches in August and October, Microsoft said. Both of these patches cause problems for the ActiveX control - a small application designed for executing some basic tasks that create web page interactions. MS05-038 patch can also cause errors for Java applications.
After installing these patches, some applications that are programmed specifically by programmers may not be able to work on Internet Explorer .
However, Stephen Toulouse, a program managing director at Microsoft 's Security Response Center, said any problems caused by the MS05-038 and MS05-052 patches will point to images. Enjoy a very limited number of users. Simply put, these patches are only intended to enhance browser security.
The problem with web pages that can't be displayed is the latest issue that Microsoft security patches cause. Recently there was another patch that could potentially damage the user's computer system if the system had changed some of the default parameters in the operating system. For users of Windows 2000 operating systems, it is impossible to find a suitable patch for security issues in the operating system.
The MS05-052 patch caused an error because it made some changes on the Windows operating system to increase IE security. After installing the patch, IE will conduct a special security check before allowing the ActiveX driver to be called. If the ActiveX driver does not have settings that allow you to run IE, it will immediately block such sites.
To fix this problem Microsoft recommends that developers reprogram ActiveX controls and make sure it is safe to run on IE. Or users can lower IE security settings - this is not recommended.
Changes for security enhancements in MS05-038 patch also cause problems for ActiveX control applications and Java applications. To solve this problem, these applications need to have a change of conversion or reprogramming orientation.
