At least 4 patches will be available for "serious" labeled errors according to Microsoft's rating. These typical security issues can allow an attacker to gain full control of an infected computer system without the user taking any mitigation actions at all. Errors appear in Windows, Office, MDAC and Microsoft security tools. The company said that after the computer updated some patches, it would require the system to restart.

In January 2007, Microsoft simultaneously released four security patches for the Office suite. These errors create an advantage for cyberattacks, targeting Word and Excel through a method that entices users to open an attachment to control that computer. However, security firm eEye Security said there are currently 10 disclosures, but security holes in many Microsoft products have not been patched yet.
