Microsoft re-released IE patches
Microsoft has just officially released a security update MS06-042 that was released in August.
Security update MS06-042 fixes a variety of security errors in Internet Explorer.
However, soon after the release of this security update was found to contain a security error that could be exploited by hackers to attack users. This is the reason that Microsoft has to postpone the first re-release plan of MS06-042. Microsoft later announced details of this security error.
Not only that, the MS06-042 also caused problems for the browser when accessing some websites using HTTP 1.1 communication procedure and compression solution.
' The security update MS06-042 along with re-releases is a big lesson for us ,' said Tony Chor, Microsoft's IE program manager. ' We learned a lesson about the need to improve the patch development process to make sure every patch achieves the quality we want .'
This is not the first case of an issue with Internet Explorer patches. Last April, Microsoft also had to re-release IE patches due to conflicts with Nvidia drivers and HP printers.
