In the announcement on December 24, the Indian Cabinet also approved the establishment of the National Biofuels Coordinating Committee and the Biofuels Steering Committee.

According to the policy, biofuel production will use raw materials that are not used for food in the wasteland, secondary land and degraded land.
The policy also set a target to achieve 20% of biofuels by 2017, and also suggested that the minimum support price for biofuel used for biofuels be announced to create a reasonable price framework fair for farmers.
The policy also stipulates the minimum purchase price for biofuels to be announced in stages.
The statement said: 'The main driving force will be devoted to research, development and implementation with a focus on the cultivation, processing and production of biofuels, including second generation biofuels'. . In addition, financial incentives, including subsidies, should be considered specifically for second-generation biofuels if necessary and the establishment of a National Biofuel Fund.
