Officials from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said the PSLV-C24 rocket had brought the satellite out of the Satish Dhawan Space Center at 1714 (local time).

This is the second satellite in the satellites system, including seven of India's Regional Positioning Satellite System, known as the Indian Global Positioning System (GPS) version.

According to ISRO Radhakrishnan Director, the country will have its own satellite navigation system with 4 satellites being put into space before the end of the year. The first satellite of this type was launched in July 2013, two more satellites will be launched later this year.

With this success, India has become the sixth country to achieve the above achievement after the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan.
