India will launch the shuttle in the next 3 years
India plans to launch the first shuttle before 2010 and the Mars probe before 2012. Director of the Indian Space Research Agency (ISRO) Machavan Nair has just confirmed this.
The shuttle will be put into orbit by a self-destructible missile at a rate of 4 to 5 times the speed of light. Indian researchers built a spaceship prototype to perform a series of necessary tests.
According to Nair, India still has not given up its intention to launch a Mars probe before 2012. 'We have given scientists this intention and they have shown great interest in Mars's atmosphere. ' he said.
