The mission of the ship is to map the surface of the Red planet, study the atmosphere and search for methane gas, a sign that a planet is capable of life.

Earlier, on November 5, Mangalyaan's unmanned spacecraft was pressed to launch a space from the Satish Dhawan Space Center, in Andhra Pradesh state, marking an important milestone in the history of space science. India. This is an ambitious space program that has not been successfully implemented by any Asian country.

However, it is only possible to evaluate the success of the ship Mangalyaan when it enters orbit of Mars on September 24, 2014. So far, no country has launched a spacecraft to reach Mars on its first launch.

Currently only the United States, Russia and the European Union have succeeded in bringing the probe to Mars and the United States is the only country that sends probes to the surface of Mars, which is the Curiosity.
