Was there nuclear war in ancient times?

The hypothesis of nuclear war on Mars appeared quite a long time ago .

But recently, an American physicist has 'heated up' this topic, with shocking statements. Was the Martian civilization really wiped out by nuclear war? Did Martians ever come to Earth and destroy our world with this destructive weapon?

Martian civilization wiped out?

One of the most notable statements about nuclear war on Mars comes from NASA computer engineer Vince DiPietro, who, along with colleague Gregory Molenaar, conducted studies of the 'Face on Mars' in the 1970s.

In a 1998 paper, titled 'Mars: The Mysterious Planet' , DiPietro said that the element xenon 129, a second generation of radioactive elements produced when nuclear fission occurs, is found in abundance in the Martian atmosphere.

Nuclear fission produces iodine 129, which has a half-life of 17 million years, releasing beta particles and xenon 129 (a stable, eternal element). Was there nuclear fission from a bomb explosion on Mars? This is an important question to answer, because it focuses on the possibility that Martians could have destroyed everything but themselves at a time when we were still living in caves, hunting mammoths for food.

DiPietro's claim was prompted by research by American Physical Society scientist John Brandenburg, who is leading a study to determine whether a race, or even multiple races, on Mars were wiped out in a nuclear holocaust.

In 2014, his work was covered by the world's media. On November 21 of that year, the famous British newspaper, Daily Mail, published a sensational article titled: 'Ancient Martian civilization wiped out by aliens with nuclear bombs and they may have attacked Earth…'.

At the 2014 Fall Annual Meeting of the American Physical Society in Illinois, plasma physicist Dr John Brandenburg presented his theory of an ancient civilization on Mars that was wiped out by a nuclear attack from another alien race, said Jonathan O'Callaghan , author of the paper.

He said that two ancient Martian races, Cydonia and Utopia, were massacred in the attack and evidence of the genocide can still be seen today.

In fact, Brandenburg provides details to support this: ' The surface of Mars is covered with a thin layer of radioactive material, including uranium, thorium, and radioactive potassium. A nuclear explosion could have sent debris all over the planet. In short, the hypothesis that Mars was the site of an ancient planetary nuclear holocaust needs to be seriously considered.'

Previously, in 2011, he first hypothesized that Mars' red color could be the result of a thermonuclear explosion.

Martians on Earth?

Was Martian civilization destroyed in a catastrophic planet-wide nuclear war in the distant past, as John Brandenburg theorizes? If so, it is not far-fetched to suggest that Martians fled their home world, sought refuge on our planet, and even established settlements on the Moon.

It is also possible that the aggressive Martians, after settling on Earth, would have devastated our landscape in the same way they did their world, although not on a planet-wide scale. Fortunately, they seem to have used only tactical nuclear weapons, resulting in the destruction of the city they built and its inhabitants.

We don't know for sure what, or who, triggered nuclear war on Earth millennia ago. Much of it is speculation. We have little or no documentation of such disasters from the early stages of human civilization.

However, it was the discovery of the 'Face on Mars' in the 1970s that sparked interest and controversy around the possibility that Mars might be a world not so different from our own, even inhabited by human-like creatures.

According to Brandenburg, Mars once had an Earth-like atmosphere, suitable for the existence of both plants and animals. Any intelligent life would have reached the level of development of the ancient Egyptians on our planet.

This conclusion was drawn from his analysis of two regions on the Red Planet: the Cydonia region , where the so-called 'Face on Mars' once appeared, and a region called Galaxias Chaos .

Of course, the holocaust from nuclear war on Mars, or even on Earth, remains Brandenburg's hypothesis to this day, although he is not the first to mention the possibility of nuclear wars in the Solar System. The mysteries of the Red Planet can only be solved when humans set foot on Mars in the not-too-distant future.
