Injecting stem cells from fat, immediately out of alcoholism

The Chilean scientists' experiments helped mice that had been subjected to heavy alcoholism turn their faces away when they smelled alcohol, only after 48 hours were injected with human stem cells.

Alcoholism is one of the most difficult problems to treat and leads to many health problems, including cancer. But the new University of Chile project (Santiago, Chile), can treat alcoholism at its root by eliminating the factors that make it impossible to leave distant alcohol inside the brain, with the promise of up to 90%.

Alcoholism is considered a worrying medical problem in many countries - (artwork from the Internet).

First, scientists tried to force some mice to become heavy alcoholics. They are given a daily amount of alcohol that, if proportional, is equivalent to a person drinking a bottle of vodka every day.

Initially the mice refused to drink but after some alcohol was added sweeteners, they began to drink. In just 4 months, they were unable to leave the alcohol anymore and the biochemical processes in the body showed that they had actually turned into alcoholics.

Later, the team used injections into the vein of these mice. Unexpectedly, the signs of inflammation in the brain and oxidative stress - which are conditions that promote the risk of re-alcoholism in humans - have dropped rapidly in these mice.

Within 48 hours, many mice when placed in front of the wine turned their faces away and looked for filtered water. In the next 2 weeks, they were given alcohol in front of 1 hour a day, many did not drink, many only drank a little and turned to drink water. After those two weeks, the amount of alcohol consumed by these alcoholic drinkers decreased by 80-90%.

According to Israeli researcher Yedy, one of the authors, they are now completing the final steps to move to human trials. The situation is very positive because with biochemical mechanisms that are very similar to humans, most of the tests in mice are equally effective in humans and that is why they are chosen to do experiments. Taking stem cells from human fat is now also easy.

Considered a worrying health problem in many countries. According to the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse, there are 16 million people suffering from alcohol use disorders. Alcoholism is also the cause of 1 in 10 deaths in the United States.
