Install underground traffic lights for phone addicts

A city in Germany had to install a traffic signal light on the road with a high fear of accidents when pedestrians glued to the phone.

The city of Augsburg in southern Germany is the first place in the world to place traffic lights on the road. This is the solution the city government has put in place to deal with people who are addicted to cell phones, who often look at electronic screens despite being on the road and don't know what dangers are ahead.

In March, a 15-year-old girl died after being hit by a tram. She had just put on a headset while playing the phone and crossed the street without looking at the light.

The city government has installed this special traffic signal light along two intersections with the highest number of university students traveling and using public transport. The effectiveness of this project will be monitored regularly before the government decides whether to install it all over the city.
