The intersection has 42 columns of traffic lights that confuse people

An intersection in East Riding, Yorkshire, England, was dubbed "red light district" by local residents due to the design of rising traffic light posts adjacent to each other.

According to Mirror, the Grovehill intersection with 42 traffic lights has been put into use in Beverley, East Yorkshire since last year, replacing the old roundabout. However, road safety experts warn that traffic signals here are too many, causing participants to get confused and increase the risk of collisions.

According to the East Riding County Council test results, design engineers are recommended to rationalize the location and number of lampposts.

"At the intersection, some lanes and turns have more traffic lights than necessary. The use of too many lampposts may increase the risk of colliding with drivers and obstructing visibility" representative of the expert group conducting the test said.

The East Riding County Council still believes that the traffic signal system works well."Our general view is that this signaling system is very effective in terms of drivers, cyclists and walkers. We recognize that experts offer many different ways of looking at the number of lights. traffic, but there will certainly be no major changes, "said Alan Menzies, who is in charge of planning and economic recovery in the East Riding county council.
