Intense snowstorm covers many parts of Europe

The record high snowfall has affected the traffic and lives of people in many European countries.

At least 5 people in Poland have been frozen due to the cold weather and intense snowfall on December 17, bringing the total number of cold deaths in the country from the beginning of the winter to now 28.

Traffic activities in many major cities in Poland are almost paralyzed due to snowfall when many railway lines have to stop operating, road traffic is stalled, even some flights have to take off hours . That is not to mention the hundreds of traffic accidents that occurred in the last 24 hours in Warsaw, but because of heavy snow, slippery roads.

The Polish hydro-meteorological agency forecasts that in the next few days, the snow will still fall much and the lowest temperature can drop to minus 16 degrees Celsius.

The whole city of Paris in France is sinking in a record of snow. Snow fell during the night of December 16, paused at dawn and then fell more heavily on December 17. Paris's street information center said more than 300km of streets here were submerged in snow, obstructing traffic. Many take-off flights from Paris's Charles de Gaulle were delayed from 30 minutes to 2 hours due to heavy snowfall.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Emergency officials organized evacuation of 2 pregnant women, 6 families with children and a group of artists trapped on the route.

Meanwhile, in Kherson province, the supply of bread to shops was interrupted because wheeled vehicles could not move.

During the past week, heavy snow fell across Spain, in which the northern and central provinces of this country suffered the most.

Statistics show that on December 17, nearly 6,800 students were unable to go to school because of the blizzard, particularly in La Rioja province in northern Spain, nearly 2,400 students were unable to go to school. Many cars have lost their driving because of the slippery road, causing the La Rioja provincial government to warn people not to drive to the streets.
