Interesting discovery about the sweet taste of pandas
Although the only food source of bamboo is bamboo, but a study recently published in the American journal Plos One published on March 27 shows that this lovely animal is very sweet.
Researchers from the Monell Center of the United States conducted a test of the taste of this animal to find out if pandas maintain the ability to sense sweet taste like other herbivores.
Accordingly, eight pandas were given one bowl of filtered water and one bowl of fresh water one after another. The results show that all eight pandas tend to like and drink a bowl of soft drinks.

The team also experimented with different types of sugars such as fructose, glucose, sucrose, lactose, maltose and galactose mixed into the bowl and, in any case, the freshwater bowl was chosen by the pandas.
Experts say that, unlike other herbivores, the only food of pandas is bamboo - a fiber rich in fiber but low in sugar. However, the findings suggest that the animal's ability to sense sweetness is not lost like other predators, although they are not exposed to high sugar foods.
In addition, scientists also believe that the panda still uses sweet-sensing cells to help the pancreas and intestines digest food easily.
However, although it is very sweet, panda species still receive nutrients mainly from bamboo branches. According to the researchers, it is possible that bamboo provides some essential nutrition to help the pandas maintain their life or for them, this plant is simply like attractive candies.
