Introduce equipment to convert sea waves into electricity

A $ 5 million wave-power facility will become a major source of electricity for Australia's Tasmania.

Wave Swell (Australia) will be installed at the seabed near King's Island, a popular tourist destination between Victoria and Tasmania.

The device can generate electricity at a cost of about 7.4 US cents per kilowatt hour.

The energy generated by this equipment will be charged to Hydro Tasmania's fully-renewable power grid and will power half of King County's current population of 1,600.

Wave Swell says the device could generate electricity at about US $ 7.4 per kilowatt hour, which is significantly lower than Australia's average cost of 19 cents per kilowatt-hour.

Tom Denniss, the "father" of the device, said the new device can produce energy savings than most sources of renewable energy and more power production unit energy use coal new generation .

Before this new Wave Swell product came out, many companies struggled to harness the wave of commercial power. At least 20 projects around the world do not pass the experimental phase.
