Turns the ocean into electricity with 99% efficiency.

Among renewable energy sources, marine energy has not been utilized much, although it is known that its conversion efficiency to electricity is the highest. The US Air Force Academy is testing large-scale conversion equipment with up to 99% efficiency.

Model of equipment transforms waves into electricity.

According Rbc pages of Russia, scientists at the US Air Force Academy has completed a large-scale experiment on the operation of a device transform wave energy into electricity. The initial results have confirmed the complete ability to build a machine with unprecedented performance.

The energy conversion test demonstrates the reasonableness of the structure and the ability to achieve 99% efficiency on a computer model. In fact, the device is capable of receiving energy and extinguishing ocean waves and converting almost all of that energy into electricity. For comparison, it should be recalled that the maximum efficiency of modern wind power plants is only about 60%.

The launch of the wave-breaking technology began in 2008. The world's first trans-shipment facility operating under submergence has been tested at a scale of 1: 300 with the scale of future industrial equipment. Currently, the US Air Force Academy has tested a continuous instrument, 1:10 scale compared with industrial equipment later. This is the final step before a full-size machine is built out of the sea.
