Hana was born on April 15.

The director of the Royan Institute of Iran, Mohammed Hossein Nasr, said the goat was born on April 15, named by the scientists as Hana. He judged it to be a major advance in Iran's medical field, opening a new direction in the study of therapeutic methods.

Previously, in 2006, Iran was the first country in the Middle East to produce a sheep also by asexual reproduction method. This sheep grows normally and is very healthy over the next two years.

According to Mohammed Hossein, cloned animals can be used to prepare antibodies that help people fight disease.

These successes are the result of a process of research efforts by Iranian scientists within the framework of bringing Iran to become the most advanced science and technology in the region in 2025.

Iranian leaders have also issued decrees to allow asexual reproduction of animals, prohibiting human cloning.
