ISS trajectory increased by 6km
International Space Station (ISS) on (November 18) adjusted the trajectory to 6km, to a height of about 392km compared to Earth, RIA Novosti quoted the spokesman Center to control the mission of Russia for know.
Accordingly, ISS will be pushed to a new position thanks to the thrust of the Russian Zvezda module on ISS.
The spokesman said, ISS began to be pushed to a new orbit at 11:07 am on November 18 (VN time) and this process was done in about 217 seconds until ISS reached orbit 392 , 3km, 6km higher than before.
There are six astronauts working on ISS
It is known that the change of ISS trajectory to facilitate Soyuz TMA-02M leave ISS on November 22 and Soyuz TMA-03M ship to connect to the station on December 23 next.
Soyuz TMA-02M after carrying three astronauts was Sergei Volkov (Russian Federal Space Agency - Roscosmos), Michael Fossum (US Space and Aeronautics Agency - NASA) and Satoshi Furukawa (Exploration Agency) Japanese space - JAXA) left ISS to go home, the space station will have three people left: Anton Shkaplerov and Anatoly Ivanishin (belonging to Roscosmos) and Dan Burbank (NASA).
All three have been taken by the Soyuz TMA-22 to the ISS on November 16, after a two-day journey through space from Russia's Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, Soyuz TMA-03M carries three Don Pettit astronauts (NASA), Oleg Kononenko (Roscosmos) and Andre Kuipers (ESA) expected to leave the launch pad at Baikonur on December 21, coming to join Shkaplerov, Ivanishin and Burbank to become the 30th ISS International Fleet.
