ISS will rest in the Pacific Ocean

The International Space Station (ISS) will be given "peace of mind" in the Pacific Ocean, after ending its scientific research mission in 2020, AFP leads information from the Russian Federal Space Agency ( Roscosmos) said.

" After the end of its research mission, ISS will be sunk into the sea. It cannot exist in orbit due to the large and complex mass, which will create a lot of garbage in the space ," Deputy Director Roscosmos director Vitaly Davydov said on 27.7.

Mr. Davydov said that Russia and its partners have agreed to stop the operation of this $ 100 billion space station in 2020. In addition, he said, " there is a good chance " there will be one. New space station was built later to replace ISS.

Thus, in 2020, ISS will follow its "predecessor" the Mir Space Station of Russia to end its "life" in the Pacific Ocean. In 2001, after 15 years of operation, Mir station was also engulfed by the Russian "graveyard cemetery" near the Christmas Island in the Pacific.

It is known that ISS was born from the cooperation agreement of five space agencies in the US, Russia, Japan, Canada and Europe. It was built in 1998 and completed a week after the end of Atlantis' last mission, and was also the mission to close the US shuttle program that lasted 30 years.

Initially, ISS will serve scientific studies until 2016. However, it has been extended to 2020 by extension.
