January 21: The welding of the Internet cable is broken
Mr. Nguyen Huu Khanh - Director of International Telecommunication Company VTI said: '' According to the announcement of the international marine cable repair force, it is not until January 21, the welding work of new international optical fiber be completed . ''
Internet streets became unusually absent because the Internet connection was down.
According to Mr. Khanh, VTI is now connected to two submarine cable lines including SMW-3 and TVH;At the same time, VTI is also buying capacity of about 15 international marine fiber optic systems.
Fiber optic cable system SMW-3, one of the major optical cable systems of the world that Vietnam joined to connect
The SMW-3 service has an 80Gb / s capacity connecting Vietnam with nearly 40 Asian - European countries and having an access system at Da Nang International Optical Cable Station. TVH route connects Vietnam with Thailand, Hong Kong, with capacity of 560Mb / s each.
Currently, Internet bandwidth is being overcome by negotiating with foreign partners to switch to backup lines. Hiring other Internet lines to rent satellites is expensive and takes longer to wait for cable repair. Therefore, Mr. Khanh said: "" The best way is to wait for the cable connection to the sea ".
The representative of Viettel Telecom Corporation said that this ISP has connected 5/8 broken cables. The expected completion time also takes at least 1 more week. This level of fiber optic recovery is completing 60-70% of the traffic.
Thus, in order to ensure that the Internet is fully stable, users continue to wait until the service provider completes the broken cable line.
