Japan can restart the Ohi nuclear reactor
According to AFP and Voice of Russia, for the first time since the incident at the Fukushima 1 nuclear power plant in March 2011, reactors of nuclear power plants in Japan's Ohi city Can be operated again in the future.
Since the Fukushima incident so far, no reactor has been restarted.
Jiji Press news agency quoted the mayor of Ohi city, Shinobu Tokioka on June 14, said he supported the restart of nuclear reactors No. 3 and No. 4 at the Ohi nuclear power plant, and announced the house. Local nuclear power plants can work again in July, if the coming days reach consensus with all levels of government.
After the accident at Fukushima 1, Japan stopped to check all 54 nuclear power facilities, which provided up to 1/3 of the country's electricity demand.
Ohi's third and fourth reactors underwent a thorough inspection and were approved by Japanese experts and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
However, the prospect of re-launching nuclear reactors is facing opposition from residents.
The decision of Ohi City Hall is a necessary condition but not enough to re-operate the factory, because it still has to wait for the opinion of Fukui Governor, Issei Nishikawa, the concerned ministers and the head of the Japanese cabinet Copy.
