Japan invented paper that helps prevent radiation

Japan's Toppan printing company, which occupies the second position in the domestic market for producing and selling printing and photo equipment, has invented special paper that is unaffected by radioactive radiation.

The aforementioned paper contains high tungsten content, which creates a new material similar to a lead plate that effectively blocks gamma radiation.

However, unlike lead, the paper that Toppan produces is lighter and does not harm human health.

The work that Toppan invented opened a new opportunity in designing a more complete and lighter workwear, clothes that can be used in Japan's No. 1 Fukushima nuclear power plant. The village had to work long term in a toxic radioactive environment and could avoid the heavy consequences of last year's radioactive leak in the Northeast, Japan.

Toppan said the cost of this paper is not cheap, about 28,000-32,000yen / m 2 of paper, equivalent to 358-410USD / m 2 .

The incident at Japan's No. 1 Fukushima nuclear power plant in March 2011 caused the area around the plant to be radioactive and people had to evacuate.
