Japan makes a net to clean garbage in space

The Japan Space Exploration Agency (JAXA) cooperates with a fishing equipment manufacturing company to create a kind of net from school, dedicated to clearing space.

Cosmic garbage is a fragment of a missile, spacecraft or satellite that stops working. They are causing many problems for the national space program. JAXA and the world's leading space agencies are trying to develop new technology, helping to clean up garbage outside the space.

Daily Mail reported, JAXA is cooperating with Japanese fishing equipment maker Nitto Seimo to create a net from a school specializing in clearing space. It has a length of about 300m, has the ability to create magnetic forces strong enough to attract the space junk around. After completing the task, the magnetic and garbage nets will fall into the earth's atmosphere before completely burning.

Under the plan, JAXA will test the performance of the net from the school in late February. The rocket will put this device in space so that it can prove the efficiency of garbage removal. If successful, the magnetic grid will repel many of the hazards from cosmic garbage for human space programs. However, Daily Mail does not mention the maximum size of the space junk that the net from the school can clean up.

The US Aerospace Agency (NASA) warns that space junk around the earth orbit has hit an alarming threshold. About 22,000 large pieces of cosmic trash, likely to exist after the process of friction with the atmosphere, are wandering in Earth's orbit. In addition, hundreds of thousands of small-sized pieces of trash drift out of space, possibly threatening spacecraft and active satellites. Moving at speeds up to 28,000 km / h, the small piece of cosmic trash is still a great danger to human space activities.
